Carnival...

5.2.16

Claws and a little cap with eyes. Were the only things I bought this year for the carnival. Everything else was recycled and I'm pretty sure it will be so this day forward. They appreciate something done by themselves and by their mom.
My dragon / crocodile had his head made by his father. A simple DIY done with paper pulp. The suit was recycled from an old costume of when he was 4 years old. Cutted in half, and on the back I putted a tail and some scales I made with felt. From what was left from the pants i made the paws. Which by time of the picture he had them ripped off.
My extra-terrestrial, although we can't see it in the picture took a vest with an alien face. I had some recycled fabric here, and the face i made it out of felt, too. The cape is from an old Darth Vadder's costume.
They enjoyed themselves, they wore what they asked, and they participated in the realization of the costumes.
Furthermore, I realized the good it does me too. I love that DIY's power to abstract me a bit from work and doubts and fears and devote myself to see them happy.
The costumes fits them like a glove. The littlest is really a dragon, he makes the party alone, loves being the center of attention, where he is there's"fire."
My pre-pre-teen, is sensitive, sensorial even, special. And I'd like him to know the earliest maturity allows that to be considering "alien" and different, out of ordinary it's a very positive thing and even a desirable thing.
